Meet Richard Weissman, Esq.

Richard Weissman, Managing Partner of O&L Law Group, is a Tampa native whose journey has been marked by a commitment to legal excellence and a passion for service. With a remarkable educational background and a career spanning various facets of the legal arena, Richard brings a wealth of expertise and a resolute dedication to every endeavor he undertakes.

Richard's educational foundation was established at Northwestern University, where he pursued his undergraduate studies, immersing himself in a rigorous academic environment. Building upon this strong foundation, he honed his legal acumen at Fordham Law School, a prestigious institution renowned for producing legal luminaries.

Upon graduating from Fordham Law School, Richard’s dedication to the pursuit of justice led him to the Miami Dade State Attorney's Office, where he passionately championed legal causes. Richard's commitment to public service later brought him back to his hometown of Tampa, where he joined the Office of the Public Defender for Hillsborough County. Here, he continued his advocacy for those in need in the community he holds dear.

In April of 2013, Richard embarked on a new chapter in his legal journey as a vital member of our team at O&L. Drawing upon his extensive litigation experience, he quickly established himself as an instrumental figure within our firm. Richard's dedication and legal prowess propelled him to become a partner and shareholder in February 2017, a testament to his invaluable contributions.

In December 2022, Richard stepped into the position of Managing Partner, taking on a range of critical responsibilities vital for the successful administration of O&L Law Group. Richard remains committed to formulating and implementing the firm's long-term strategy, business plans, and growth initiatives. He is responsible for supervising the firm's financial well-being, which encompasses tasks such as budgeting, revenue generation, expense management, and ensuring profitability. Richard also dedicates himself to fostering client relationships, identifying fresh business prospects, promoting the firm's services, and expanding its client roster.

Richard's commitment to excellence extends beyond his daily endeavors. He is an esteemed member of the National Creditors Bar Association and a Certified Receivables Compliance Professional with Receivables Management Association International (RMAI), underscoring  his commitment to maintaining the highest standards of professional conduct.

Richard serves both as a Council Member of the RMAI Certification Council and Committee Chair for the RMAI Standards Committee, showcasing his proactive approach to shaping industry norms and ensuring ethical standards are upheld.
